Short Wildlife Excursions Options
Nairobi National Park (2 to 3 hours)
Less than 15minutes drive from the airport this park is ideal for visitors transiting or having short stay in Nairobi. If you would like to experience natural wildlife game drive experience and you don’t have much time this park is is a perfect deal for you. home to 4 of the big five among other animals and more than 50 birds species.
Giraffe Centre (1 hour)
Approximately 30 minutes drive from JKIA international airport, giraffe center is a n educational conservation center that is home to Rothchild Giraffes placed here for conservation educational purposes. this is one place where you can come very close to the giraffes and have opportunity to feed them from a raised platform that brings you face to face with this gentle giants.
Elephants Orphanage 1 hour (11:00am to 12:00 noon)
Also known as Sheldricks this is a conservation initiative that was initiated by David Sheldrick to rescue orphaned or abandoned baby Elephants in the wild that could not survive without their parents. the initiative rescues the young and vulnerable Elephants and bring them to their nursery where they are fed with milk until they are ready for integration with a family and release back to the wild. Animal Orphanage (1 hour)
The Animal orphanage is located within the precincts of Nairobi national park. The orphanage was formed to take care of young animals abandoned , orphaned or injured in the wild and due to them being young and unable to survive on their own the orphanage was formed to provide the parental absent care the young animals need before they could be reintroduced to the wild environment. The Orphanage hosts lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, serval cats, rare Sokoke cats, warthogs, leopards, various monkeys, baboons and buffalo. Various birds can also be viewed including parrots, guinea fowls, crowned cranes and ostriches.
Nairobi Safari Walk (1 hour)
The Nairobi safari walk is a show case of animals found in various parts of the country viewed from a raised pathway within the protection area of Nairobi national park. A visit to Nairobi safari walk is suitable for visitor who have a very short time to see wildlife and dont have time to go in the park to drive around in search of wildlife. Here one can see lion, cheetah, Leopard, Buffallo, Zebra, antelope, Hippo etc

Nairobi City Tour (1 hour)
Also known as the city in the sun, Nairobi is the largest city in East and Central Africa with a population of 6 million people. A city tour will take you to the old railway station that operates up to today, Maasai Market (this moves depending on the day of week), city panoramic view from the top of Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Kenyan parliament among other government offices and private entities.
Paradise children Orphanage (1 hour)
If you are the social type of person who would like to interact with children during your short stay in Nairobi then a visit to a children home would fulfill your quest. Paradise children home is located in Kibra – the largest slum settlement in Kenya and has around 25 children. singing with the children and learning more about their stories plus sharing the pleasant smiles is one of a better way to spend your short time in Nairobi.
Karen Blixen Museum (1 hour)
The Karen Blixen Museum was once the centre piece of a farm at the foot of the Ngong Hills owned by Danish Author Karen and her Swedish Husband, Baron Bror Blixen-Finecke. Located 10km from the city centre, the museum belongs to a different time period in the history of Kenya, and later gained international acclaim with the release of the movie ‘Out of Africa’, an Oscar winning film based on Karen’s autobiography by the same title.
